Create Memories for a Lifetime with a stay at a Savannah Bed and Breakfast

kathleen Dupuis - Sunday, January 06, 2013

Why Choose a Savannah Bed and Breakfast verses a Savannah Hotel?

Here is why! Savannah is the Best Choice for Southern Hospitality and it's Old World architecture. Currently, we have approximately 45 Bed and Breakfasts in Savannah and they are all unique. Our Olde Savannah Inn is one of a kind and specializes in the ultimate luxury and world class elegance. Attention to detail is a MUST...We are very fortunate to have so many lovely bed and breakfasts to welcome guests from all over the world and I must say there is nothing comparable to our Savannah Innkeepers. Martha's Vineyard is a favorite spot for me, still there is no place like Savannah for it's generous offerings and gracious hospitality.

As a native from Boston, I grew up in the Northern culture until I moved here in 2005 and I was taught to SLOW DOWN. The leisure of the Southern lifestyle is so much more relaxing and appealing instead of living in the fast lane. Before I purchased the Olde Savannah Inn, I had never had the opportunity of a Bed and Breakfast experience but I knew how I would like to be treated if I ever stayed in a Bed and Breakfast. It is an honor to stay in a private home verses a hotel as it is such an up close and personal experience. If you are not a people person, and you are one of those people who want to become invisible then the Hotel is for you.

Upon entering a Savannah Bed and Breakfast or Savannah Inn, you are warmly greeted by hard working and caring Innkeepers who have been preparing for your visit and are excited to have you as a guest in their Savannah B&B. When you stay at a Savannah Hotel, You will be greeted very professionally by the front desk clerk who has a job to do and will issue you a key or slot card to your room and there is no personal connection to your stay. You will have come and gone and very seldom will you be remembered . Just doing Business as usual.

You can invest in future memories that will last a lifetime when you choose a Bed and Breakfast in Savannah. After having the experience of being an innkeeper for six years and more, I would always encourage visitors to stay in one of our beautiful Savannah Inns, One of my favorites is The Olde Savannah Inn. Why! Best Gourmet candlelight/Big band Southern Breakfast fit for a KING. There is no hotel in Savannah that will offer you the gourmet breakfast, freshly made homemade treats, coffee served in a French Press and crisp pressed European linens that beckon you to a sleep you probably haven't experienced in years.

Savannah Innkeepers are gladly ready to assist you with all of your Savannah plans for your Georgia vacation. From the finest Savannah Cuisine to Tybee Island's Crab Shack , we plan your entire Savannah vacation and most of us offer FREE PARKING onsite. You cannot beat that. Most of the Savannah Hotels charge you parking fees and extras just to stay at their establishment.  You have no rapport with management or the owner because to a hotel, it is just doing business. As a guest in the Savannah Bed and Breakfasts, we know who you are, we go out of our way to get to know you and care about how your stay goes. We are friends you haven't met yet...Come , stay at a beautiful mansion that you can call home while visiting the most enchanting city in the South.  Choose The Olde Savannah Inn, and create memories for a lifetime.

See you Soon,

Your Savannah Innkeeper and Friend, Miss Kathleen

5 Best Places to See While in Savannah

kathleen Dupuis - Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Wondering what the best places are to visit while you are in Savannah?  Here are the top five places!

Forsyth Park

Forsyth Park is the largest and one of the most beautiful parks in Savannah.  The Olde Savannah Inn is only steps away from this magnificent wonder. Forsyth Park was originally created in the 1840's, named for Georgia governor John Forsyth, and covers 30 acres, equip with a cafe, large field area for sports, Confederate memorials, a place for events such as the Savannah Jazz Festival, and a French inspired fountain that is a must-see in Savannah.

Tybee Island

Tybee Island is located just a few miles from Savannah, with miles of beaches, great seafood restaurants, and a lighthouse built in 1773!  The Tybee museum chronicles Tybee's 400 history with relics and historical items. Make sure to visit the Pier and Pavilion for fishing, specials events, and a gorgeous view of the ocean!

Historic River Street

Take a stroll down Savannah's River Street and be transported back into time with cobblestone roads, trolleys, and festivals.  Enjoy some of the best of what Savannah's restaurants have to offer, sip down a refreshing adult-slushy while you walk, and stop by the many famous shops and candy stores.  The river is nothing short of amazing and is famously died green for the St. Patrick's Day celebration!

Bonventure Cemetery

This is not to be missed!  Huge, centuries old Magnolia trees, gothic statues, and hundreds of years of history lie in this cemetery.  Once known for it's famous statue that graced the cover of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, this 100-acre cemetery is now home to Holocaust memorials and colonial legends.

The Olde Savannah Inn

Yes, that's us!   But we are truthfully a great historic sight to see in Savannah! Located on historic Gaston Street, this luxurious Savannah Bed and Breakfast has been restored to its original charm with grand chandeliers, French antiques, wrought iron gates, and a hidden garden.  This is a true hidden gem in Savannah and is one of a kind.  The Olde Savannah Inn is only a short walk from all of the other places mentioned above (Tybee is driving distance).

We hope this guide will help you have the best possible time while you are visiting Savannah!

See you soon!
