In the Kitchen with Kathleen

KathleenThere's not a much better to wake up in the morning than to the smell of breakfast and coffee.  Not many of us get to experience the joy of walking downstairs and fluffy omelets greeting us at the table, but it happens daily here at The Olde Savannah Inn.  The friendly innkeeper, Kathleen is not a professionally trained chef, but you'd never know it.  She grew up cooking, trying out recipes, and even enlisting the neighbors to try her dishes.  Kathleen's perfectionist nature had her experimenting until it was perfect.

As she cooked to the sounds of smooth jazz, I saw fresh fruit and vegetables being sliced.  Nothing canned here.  Only fresh ingredients here.  Nearby lies a French press gently creating coffee that's smooth and rich.  I sat down at the table glancing at the beautiful view of the garden to my left.  With knife and fork, I cut into the omelet and began to eat.  The soft egg melts alongside the warm and creamy goat cheese. Tomatoes add bright notes, balancing the omelet.  Truly an enjoyable experience.
