The Olde Savannah Inn, a majestic sanctuary located just steps away from Forsyth Park, offers the city’s only French Renaissance-style accommodations, warmly welcoming guests from across the country and around the world.
Owner and innkeeper Kathleen Dupuis serves as the force behind The Olde Savannah Inn. A Boston native, Kathleen first visited Savannah in November 2004 and felt a strong connection with the Hostess City. “I fell in love with Savannah,” she recalls. “It reminded me of the Beacon Hill and Back Bay area of Boston.”
In 2005, Kathleen purchased the Gaston Street property, which was originally built in 1877 as a private residence. Thanks to her meticulous renovation, this stately mansion has been returned to its former glory. “This is my calling,” she says with a smile. “Everything here is very elegantly presented.”
Today, this sumptuous inn features five exquisitely-appointed guest rooms as well as a lavish courtyard garden with a stone fountain. The property showcases impressive attention to detail in the décor, from French Renaissance antiques and opulent gilt mirrors and luxurious linens and silver accents.
All The Olde Savannah Inn guestrooms include Bose CD players, flat screen LCD televisions and gas fireplaces. Sheets are 100% Egyptian cotton, long-stapled and hem stitched with a decadent 800 thread count. Pure down comforters with linen coverlets complete the plush bedding experience.
Kathleen hand-presses the sheets before guests arrive and prepares every meal with love. Luxury towels, silver service, custom bath accessories, chocolates, free high-speed wireless Internet access, copy/fax services, telephones with data ports, hairdryers, laundry facilities and irons with ironing boards are also included with every room.
One of the highlights of any stay at The Olde Savannah Inn is the four-course gourmet breakfast, which includes a wide range of delicious options from expertly-prepared French toast to omelets and crepes. Breakfast can be enjoyed by candlelight in the dining room or al fresco in the courtyard garden.
Coffee is served in a classic French press and serves as an ideal way to start the day. Guests can also enjoy Kathleen’s signature Caribbean ice tea. Each room reservation includes delicious afternoon refreshments as well as evening wine and hors d’oeuvres.
